Reflecting on 2025
MWC Barcelona 2025 was a key highlight. The Netherlands pavilion once again served as a vibrant hub for innovation, collaboration, and international exposure:
- ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐: We proudly welcomed Minister Dirk Beljaarts from the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
- ๐๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐: A number of highly engaging Dutch-led talks sparked valuable discussions, including sessions on digital autonomy and sovereignty with Future Network Services and Digital Holland, AI-driven engagement and collaborations between partners such as Eurofiber, SPIE, and KPN.
- ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐: Thousands of meaningful interactions took place on the pavilion floor and during evening events like the NL Community Night.
- ๐๐ป๐ผ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: At SES, the session โThe road to ubiquitous communications and data sharing on the North Sea in 2030โ, moderated by Mark Beermann, highlighted the role of satellite technology in maritime digital transformation.
- ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐: Dutch expertise was showcased on the GSMA stage during โConnectivity Solutions for the North Sea and Beyondโ, moderated by Anke Kuipers.
- ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐: Growing attention through contributions from Fairphone, a knowledge mission led by Tieneke Breemhaar, and sessions ranging from a Road to a Sustainable Futureโ to โLeading in Sustainable Indoor Networksโ.
- ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด: Addressed through a dedicated knowledge mission tour led by Koen Mioulet, highlighting the rise of private networks.
- ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ด๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป & ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐: Nominees included ChatLicense, FiberUnlimited, Closing the Loop, and BroadForward: winning a GLOMO Award!
- ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐น๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐: Dutch innovation received international coverage via Silicon ANGLE & the CUBE, with Savannah Peterson, David Vellante, Frank Fay and team.
Beyond MWC, the Dutch ecosystem stayed active with events on sustainability and digital sovereignty run by Fairphone, the first National 6G Conference at Delft University of Technology, and NL@MWC community meetups in The Hague and Eindhoven focused on chips, connectivity, AI, and security.
