On Wednesday, 9 September 2026, the Dutch broadband association NLconnect will host its annual congress, Building Trust in a Connected World, at Mereveld in Utrecht (13:00–20:30).
As digital networks continue to underpin our economy, public services, innovation and national security, trust in digital infrastructure has never been more important. This year’s congress explores how industry, government and society can work together to ensure that the Netherlands remains connected, secure and resilient.
Shaping the Future of Digital Connectivity
The programme will address a wide range of topics, including cybersecurity, digital resilience, next-generation fibre networks, quantum technology, digital accessibility and emerging applications such as drones. Together, these themes highlight the opportunities and responsibilities that come with building the digital society of tomorrow.
The event brings together senior executives, policymakers, technology leaders and industry experts to discuss how the telecommunications, broadband and fibre sectors are contributing to a secure, future-proof and inclusive digital ecosystem.

- Søren Abildgaard, CEO, Odido
- Phaedra Kortekaas, Managing Director Netherlands, Eurofiber
- Joost Steltenpool, COO, Open Dutch Fiber
- Ron Roozendaal, Special Envoy for Unmanned Systems, Dutch Ministry of Defence
- A panel discussion featuring representatives from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), KPN and the Dutch Police, focusing on the Anti-Phishing Shield initiative.
The congress will be hosted by Annemarie Brüning, television presenter at Hart van Nederland (SBS6) and newsreader at Talpa Radio.
Participation is free of charge for employees of NLconnect member companies, invited relations, government representatives and members of the press. For other participants, the registration fee is €325 (excluding VAT). Members of Telecom Society, SCTE and the NL@MWC delegation receive a €100 discount.
